-PUBLIC SCHOOLS PRESENTATIONS-

The YVR has been conducting Public School Presentations since 2015.

Some of the schools we have been invited to conduct Presentations include:

 

CHESAPEAKE PUBLIC SCHOOLS:

-Greenbrier Intermediate School (5th Grade Study Body).

-E.W. Chittum Elementary School (5th Grade Study Body)

-Hickory Middle School (7th Grade History Study Body)

 

VIRGINIA BEACH PUBLIC SCHOOLS:

-Linkhorn Park Elementary (5th Grade Student Body)

-Alanton Elementary (5th Grade Student Body)

 

(Often, the YVR teams up with the GBB&WHF Museum Docents to conduct Public School Presentations)

 

The YVR has the ability to conduct single Presentations or set up for several stations so the study body can rotate through. Examples of Stations Include:

 

► REVOLUTIONARY WAR ENCAMPMENT (Life of a Solider)

► COLONIAL GAMES (18th Century Children: Etiquette and Games)

► 18th CENTURY CLOTHING, SPINNING & MATERIALS (Sewing and Clothing Construction)

► BATTLE OF GREAT BRIDGE (Battle of Kemp’s Landing)

► COLONIAL DANCING (18th Century Music/Dance)

► CAMP FOLLOWERS (Role of Women during the American Revolution)

AMERICAN REVOLUTION CAMP:

 

The YVR conducts an American Revolution Immersion Camp, generally in Spring, in the Chesapeake, VA area. For more information, please join the FaceBook Group:

Information:

DATES: Sat/Sun – (Spring: TBD)

 

CAMP HOURS: Saturday 0900 – Sunday 1400 (Overnight Camping).

 

LOCATION: Triple-R-Ranch, Chesapeake, VA.

 

HOST: Virginia Youth Regiment (YVR)

 

REGISTRATION: Open to Boys & Girls ages 8-13.

 

FEES:

►YOUTH CAMPER (8-13): $100

►YOUTH CAMPER (each additional sibling 8-13): $50

 

Full 18th Century Encampment, 18th Century style Tents for Youth Campers.

►Use of on-site Public Restroom (No Showers) Available for all Campers.

Meals Provided: Sat Lunch & Dinner, Sunday Breakfast & Lunch.
