Membership in the YVR

 

Membership in the YVR is a process requiring a probationary period to ensure safety & behavioral standards in order to create a productive learning environment & uniform standards for interacting with the public. Membership is by invitation and follows a “Step Process”:

 

LEVY (PROSPECTIVE MEMBER):  The Youth attends meetings (no public events), then makes a historic presentation to the group. If the youth can follow safety guidelines and meets behavioral standards they are then voted in as a “Recruit”.

 

RECRUIT: Recruits are given a T-Shirt, attends meetings and some events. Focus is on learning and developing teaching ability.

 

PRIVATE: Promotion to private is achieved by reciting /demonstration safety rules, drill techniques, clothing care, and general knowledge of roles. Participates & presents at public events.

 

CORPORAL through CAPTAIN: Further promotions into leadership roles are achieved through demonstrated teaching to the public and taking leadership roles in the YVR.
